looks like Hampster and May are sharing their employment status with Jeremy "The Knob" Clarkson.
Let's hope it works out for these guys as well.

This is great news. One step closer to a new show elsewhere.

I wonder what is gonna happen now. No doubt Top Gear will continue in some form since the BBC have no problem replacing their stars as for the trio I wonder if they will go independent or sign up with someone else but who though. Only people I can see are on demand companies like Netflix or Amazon.

That's Dacia Sandero level news! I hope it's true. Fingers crossed.
Watch they will all retire from TV and got their separate ways. Man, that's depressing.

Will the new show be called "Flappy Paddle" or "CVT?"

honestly, I don't mind if they stay unemployed, their Twitter posts have been pretty entertaining. They should do a show but still be unemployed. If that makes sense.

Simple - Top Gear will continue as a show on the BBC with 3 new presenters, in addition to the Stig. There will be some parts of it that will change, some that will stay the same (Car films / challenges / star / etc). It will probably be crap for the first season or two, and everyone will hate it, but it may find it's own legs and end up being great. Just like the last revision! It also may just end up being crap. Time will tell there.
The 3 amigos will shop themselves to the highest bidder. Netflix and HBO being front runners that can afford them.
Andy Willman is the dark horse currently. Does he stay @ the BBC, or leave with the other 3? That will greatly impact both Top Gear, and whatever the new show ends up being.

Some networks must have jumped all over this, they aren't going to let this opportunity pass. I bet they are having talks with a few.

The Ownership of the Stig depends on if Clarkson owns his "character" or not, and I think he does own a large chunk of the show. He'll be paid for even if he isn't on it. The creators of Dr. Who faced the same thing a while back when they wanted to use the Daleks only to find out the writer that created them retained the rights. I'm not sure how they settled that, but they obviously did.

They should just call it The Interceptors.
